Saturday, February 28, Cycropia stiltwalkers attended a stilt– dancing workshop taught by ‘Brooklyn Jumbies’ – a New York performance troupe.
The Jumbies perform numerous cultural elements of the African Diaspora including Stilt Walking, Folk/Traditional African Drum and Dance, Fire Breathing and Limbo Dancing.
Cycropia would like to thank the UW-Madison Arts Institute, who brought the Jumbies to Madison is part of Laura Anderson Barbara’s Spring interdisciplinary arts residency.
