Brave Space.

Live Performance: ‘Brave Space’

Brave Space is the building of a blanket fort, the act of sneaking under a hoopskirt, an impulsive congregation in the tiniest of tents. Intimate and low tech, this hour-long work of contemporary circus invites the audience to sit nose-to-nose with bold aerialists and acrobats to build the world we want to live in, even for only a few shared moments.

Time: Sunday June 9, 5PM (60 minutes running time)

Inversion Theory (Handstands – all levels):

Handstands are a challenging pursuit, so let’s use our heads about standing on our hands, elbows, and head. We will talk about alignment, awareness and bodily references to anchor you in space where you feel no point to anchor to. Let’s turn upside down!

Instructor Natalie Abell:
Natalie is a multifaceted, award winning athlete and artist with a background in gymnastics and singing. Natalie is also a proud nerd and a patent holding inventor and engineer. Her pension to innovate and play is driven by her desire to expand her own, and others, understanding of the human experience. This same desire draws her so passionately to teaching and helping others find and build their strength.

Shooting Stars:

Take your effervescent yet traditional star drop to the next level with these sneaky add-ons. This workshop will focus on unconventional usages of the star drop wrap as well as investigating ways of making a star drop truly your own!

Instructor Hayley Larson:
Hayley brings the movement awareness and creativity of her contemporary dance training to her aerial work, both as a performer and teacher. She is currently based in Chicago, IL where she trains and teaches at Aloft Circus Arts while also traveling to teach and perform throughout the Midwest. Visit for more information.
