Since the closing of Turner Hall, Cycropia Aerial Dance
has been without a permanent home

Cycropia Aerial Dance was originally based in downtown Madison's historic Turner Hall. We have been seeking a permanent home ever since 1996, when Turner Hall's doors closed for the last time and the building was torn down by the State of Wisconsin.

Our dream—to create or participate in a community art/movement space which would serve as an incubator for creative and collaborative works, and a center for learning and practice of movement arts.

Our needs—Low-flying trapeze has certain physical requirements and limitations, specifically:

  • An unobstructed floor space of minimum 40' x 40.
  • A ceiling height of at least 14' ideally 17-20, with options for installing rigging points.
  • A sprung-wood floor suitable for dancing, or a surface upon which we could install a dance floor.

Currently, we are actively seeking leads on suitable spaces to lease, philanthropic donors willing to make tax-deductible financial or material contributions to help with acquisition and capital improvement, and any publicity which draws attention to our plight. Please help provide for the future of community dance in Madison by contacting us at info@cycropia.org with suggestions!
