Since its inception in 1989 as one of a
small but growing number of dance troupes worldwide who
use suspended apparatus to bring their choreography into
the vertical dimension, Cycropia’s
eclectic blending of dance and circus forms evokes images
of childlike joy and seemingly effortless strength.
Cycropia distinguishes
itself not only by its unique art form, but also by its
collective structure and its emphasis on community building.
"Cycropia Aerial Dance displays
fine levels of skill and dance-like artistry….This
company has worked in too-quiet industry spinning out
performance art that, at times, looks as weightless as
silk threads dancing in the wind." (Kevin Lynch,
Capital Times)
These performances are supported in part
by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from
the State of Wisconsin.
Contact Kate Hewson (608-347-9789 or kate@glitter-box.com)

troupe are available for print or media interviews. Press
photos are available on request.
